In 2014 we won the 1st COAM Prize for The Competition and in 2015 we won the COAM Prize with Special Mention by Factoría Cultural Madrid. The COAM Awards are given annually by the Architects Association from Madrid and are among the most important architecture awards in Spain. Thanks to these two awards, we now participate in the exhibition and catalog “COAM Award for Contemporary Architecture of Madrid 2005 – 2016”. It opens tomorrow, September 29, 13: 30h, at the COAM in Madrid with the presence of Yves Saint-Geours, Ambassador of France in Spain, Manuela Carmena, Mayor of Madrid, Jose Maria Ezquiaga, Dean of the COAM, Edgar Gonzalez, Curator of the exhibition.

Factoria Cultural Madrid at Open House Madrid’17
Factoría Cultural at Matadero Madrid has been included in the Open House Madrid’17 program, within the MADE in ETSAM tour. The visit is scheduled for October 1 at 12:00h and will be guided by Angel Borrego Cubero, author of the space design.
Research Award at the XIII Spanish Biennial of Architecture

Finalist at the 13th Spanish Architecture Biennale
Factoría Cultural en el Matadero Madrid (Cultural Factory at the Contemporary Art Center El Matadero) is one of the 20 shortlisted buildings at the XIII Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo. Angel Borrego Cubero appointed Leading Professor at Master of Architectural Communication
Angel Borrego Cubero has been appointed a Leading Professor of Audiovisual Project, carried within the Master of Architectural Communication (MACA) of the ETSAM – UPM, which starts in February 2016.
4th Prize at design competition Espacio Mahou
The entry “Mensaje en una botella” (Message in a bottle) by Office for Strategic Spaces won the 4th Prize in the competition for the upcoming Espacio Mahou, organized by Mahou San Miguel with the collaboration of the Architects’ Association from Madrid (COAM). Out of 160 entries, 5 offices only were selected as finalists to go to the second stage of the competition, Office for Strategic Spaces – OSS being one of the five.

Exhibition at ICO Museum
Angel Borrego Cubero takes part at the exhibition “EXPORT. Spanish Architecture Abroad” to be held between February 23rd and May 17th at the Museum ICO (Zorrilla 3, Madrid). The exhibition is curated by Edgar González and is accompanied with a catalogue.
Factoria Cultural, a nominee at the European Architecture Prize Mies van der Rohe
The Cultural Factory Matadero Madrid, whose design and construction have been achieved by Angel Borrego Cubero along with his Office for Strategic Spaces, was nominated to the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe 2015.
